School Closure Information
Winter Weather and Emergency Closures
Decisions to close or delay school are generally made by 6:30 a.m. or, when possible, the night before.
When weather or other emergency situations close schools, families have several options to receive information:
- ParentSquare - NCSD will contact families and staff through ParentSquare (email, text, and app notification) in the case of an emergency closure. NCSD may also send automated voice messages through ParentSquare.
- Register for FlashAlert, which provides school closure information via text, email, or an app: FlashAlert.
- Call the School Closure Hotline: 503-353-6020. The hotline is updated by 6:30 a.m. on days when schools are impacted by weather or other unforeseen events.
- Visit NCSD’s website. When schools are closed or delayed, notification will pop up on all district and school webpages announcing closure or delay information.
- Follow North Clackamas Schools on Facebook.
- Watch: Portland-based television stations KATU 2, KOIN 6, KGW 8 and KPTV 12.
- Listen: 1190 KEX AM/101.1 FM KXL/103.3 KKCW FM Radio

NCSD Heat Illness Prevention Information
Purpose
The purpose of this plan is to protect North Clackamas School District (NCSD) employees from the hazards of indoor and outdoor hot working environments, and to comply with OAR 437-002-0156. This standard applies whenever an employee performs indoor or outdoor work activities where the heat index equals or exceeds 80°F.
In environments where there is a higher risk for heat illness, such as during a heat wave, greater caution and protective measures will be employed to protect employees. Employees are encouraged to exercise their rights under this plan without fear of retaliation. A copy of this plan will be publicly available on the NCSD website.
